Ronda Koban-Sortore, 48 years old, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Niagara Hospice House after a long and courageous battle against cancer. She was born in Niagara Falls on September 18, 1964, the daughter of Dorothy J. (Misch) Koban and the late Ronald R. Koban.
Ronda attended Hyde Park School, Stella Niagara and Niagara Catholic High School. She was a co-owner of Koban's Restaurant and worked as as waitress there since 1980. She was a loan officer for the Buffalo Firefighters Federal Credit Union for 23 years and most recently was appointed as the Lewiston Town Court Clerk. Ronda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was a hockey and baseball mom for her son, Zachary; and a dance mom for her daughter, Andrea.
Ronda is survived by her mother, Dorothy J. (Misch) Koban of Niagara Falls; her husband of 18 years, David A. Sortore; and children, Zachary D. and Andrea G. Sortore, all of Lewiston. She is survived by her sister, Marsha (Jack) Frost; grandmother, Mary Jannotte; mother-in-law, Dorothy Lorraine Sortore, all of Niagara Falls; her devoted friend, Anne Marie DiMino Hepfer; many nieces, nephews; and her pets, Zoe and Riley. Ronda will be sadly missed by all of us who knew her.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 PM and on Tuesday from 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM at HISTORIC HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, 1419 Falls Street. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 259-4th Street with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.
