Charles Albert Brown


Charles Albert Brown, 88, of Niagara Falls, passed away on December 4, 2012 at the home of his daughter. Charles was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 18, 1924, the son of the late Frank and Marion (Markle) Brown.
Charles was known to his family and friends as "Brownie" and "Charlie". He attended local schools in Niagara Falls, becoming an electrician working in local plants including Bell Aerospace, International Minerals and Chemicals (Sobain), Harrison Radiator and Applied Design, retiring at age 74. On July 20, 1946, he married Anne (Poderis) Brown in Philadelphia, PA. She predeceased him on May 13, 2007.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Marion (Richard) Calandrelli of Youngstown; sister, Geraldine (late Robert) Brennan of Sarasota, FL; step-grandfather of Reanne (David) Boynton of Lewiston and Richard Calandrelli, Jr. of Niagara Falls; several nieces and nephews residing in Florida and Pennsylvania; and his beloved cat, Sammy.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM with the Deacon David Slish officiating. Interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or to Save A Pet, PO Box 114, Newfane, NY 14108.
