Florence S. Coram

LEWISTON — Florence S. (nee Swiatlowski) Coram, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away, peacefully, on Friday, November 16, 2012 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after a brief illness.

She was born May 1, 1925 in Niagara Falls, the daughter of the late Felix and Veronica (Galganski) Swiatlowski. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.

On October 11, 1945, she married Ernest S. Coram in Gulfport, MS, at St. John's Church while "Ernie" was stationed in the US Navy. He predeceased her on October 27, 1983.

Flo was employed prior to and after raising her family at Hysen Supply, Gorge Travel Bureau, Firth Jewelers and, until earlier this year, at Price of Peace Church as a part-time office manager, where she was also a parishioner serving as a Eucharistic Minister and lector. She loved her family and enjoyed walking, dancing polkas, singing and dining out with family and friends.

Flo is survived by two sons, Kevin E. Coram and Richard T. (Lori) Coram; grandsons, Eric K. (fiancee' Nicole Carella) Coram and Cody R. Coram; step-grandchildren, Derik (Renee)       Gorman, Alexandra (Charlie) Murr and step-great-grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Gorman. She was the sister of the late Richard "Jake" (Delores) Swiatlowski; sister-in-law of the late Walter (Muriel) Coram and Edward (Marie) Coram; along with many nieces and nephews; cousin to Irene (late Joe) Osheski of California; and Henry (Carol) Zmudzinski of Niagara Falls.

There will be no prior visitation per Flo's wishes. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 Military Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304, to celebrate the life of Florence. EVERYONE PLEASE GATHER AT THE CHURCH VESTIBULE. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Price of Peace Church, Our Lady of Angels Associations at Niagara University, or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements made by Zajac Funeral Home, 319-24th St., Niagara Falls, NY.
