Donald L. Dolson

NIAGARA FALLS — Donald L Dolson, 62, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into eternal rest on     Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

He was born on May 11, 1950, the son of the late Floyd and Edith (Horton) Dolson.

Donald attended local schools. He served in the US Army. Donald was employed with the City of Niagara Falls.

Many will remember Donald as a craftsman and hard worker. In his spare time he took pleasure in helping others repair homes, fix cars and teaching his trade to neighborhood apprentices. He was well-known for his infectious smile and giving spirit.

Donald leaves to cherish his memory 11 children, Donald Green, Kennetta Archie, Darnel Dolson, Tina (Markesha) Dolson, all of Niagara Falls, NY, Dina Winn of Charlotte, NC, Lason Dolson, Diamond Dolson, Otis (Amber) Arterberry, Nicholas Arterberry, all of Niagara Falls, NY, Staisha Hamilton of Charlotte, NC, and James Hamilton of Auburn, AL; three brothers, Floyd  (Sally) Dolson, David (Ardell) Dolson, both of Niagara Falls, NY, George (Lalceland) Dolson of Bartow, FL; one sister, Helen Brown of Niagara Falls, NY; two sisters-in-law, Regina A. McCray-Dolson and Gloria Robertson; 22 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He leaves behind a dear mentee, Teral Smith and a loyal friend of over 50 years, Elbert Nalls, Sr. Donald was the brother of the late James and Nathan Dolson and Margaret Ann (late Felix) Ray.

The family will be present on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at St. John AME Church, 917 Garden Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment with military honors in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of  Pendleton, NY. Arrangements were made through the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.
