Joseph L. Leone

NIAGARA FALLS — Born in Niagara Falls, NY in 1932 during the Great Depression, Joseph L. Leone was the youngest of seven children born of the parents Giuseppa and Ignazio Leone.

He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters, Jack (Caroline), Dr. Casmer (Elpina) and Anthony Leone, Esther (Battista) Mule, Francis (Daniel) DeSantis and Pictrina (Nicholas) Martino.

In 1961, he received an honorable discharge from the United States Army. Later that year, he was blessed in marriage for 42 years to his loving wife, Rosalie (Catanzaro), who passed away in February 2004. Together they had four children, Lisa, Joseph Vincent, James Stephen and John Anthony. Together, they were also blessed with three loving grandchildren, (mother: Lisa) Armand Edward, Lucia Louisa and Massimo Joseph       Hassen.

A graduate from Purdue University, he worked for the Food and Drug Administration of the     United States Government as a supervisory chemist. After retiring as Director of the Lab from the FDA in 1996, he became involved for many years with Niagara's tourism lending his charm and selling tours of the area to wide-eyed visitors from all over the world.

He very much loved his family, his home, a good scotch and close friends.

He will be with us forever.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6th from 4-7 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON      NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian  Burial will be celebrated for family and friends on Monday, October 7th, at 12 Noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery with military honors.
