Peter A. DeDomenico

NIAGARA FALLS —

Peter Angelo DeDomenico, 74, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport after a brief illness with his devoted daughters at his side. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 28, 1938 to the late Francesco "Frank" and Louise (Galletta) DeDomenico. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Peter attended local schools. On November 23, 1963, he married the former Julie P. Skorenki in Welland, Ontario. She predeceased him on March 1, 2002.
Peter served in the US Army from 1960-1962 and was stationed in Germany. In 1998, he retired as a firefighter from the Niagara Falls Fire Department after 30 years of service. Prior to his service with the Fire Department he worked for Hooker Chemical, Nabisco, and Niagara Falls Parks Department and practiced his trade as a barber during the mid 1960's. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, working out and bicycling. Peter was also a huge history buff. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his three loving grandchildren.
He is survived by his two devoted daughters, Jennifer (Frederick Jr.) Clark and Jessica (Michael) LaMarca; three loving grandchildren, Tayllor Clark and Jacob and Mitchell LaMarca, all of Niagara Falls, NY; one brother, Frank (Paula) DeDomenico of Lewiston, NY; one sister, Rosamond (late Raymond) Wolf of Niagara Falls, NY; and many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins and dear friends.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday from 7-9 PM and on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY where prayers will be said on Monday at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Ave., Niagara Falls, NY at 10 AM. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, memorials may be made in Pete's memory to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or the Niagara Falls Firefighter's Toy Fund, c/o Niagara Falls Fire Department, 3115 Walnut Ave., P.O.
