Donald E. "Bo" Cole

NIAGARA FALLS —

Donald E. "Bo" Cole, 75, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Sunday, September 15, 2013 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo, NY, in the palliative care unit, following a brief illness. Born on March 4, 1938 in Stollings, WV, he was the son of the late Opal Cole.
Mr. Cole came to Niagara Falls, NY as a teenager with his family. Bo, as he was known by family and friends, served in the United States Army from September 27, 1955 until his honorable discharge on December 13, 1957. On September 2, 1961, he married the former Margaret A. Whysong in the First Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls, NY. For many years, Mr. Cole worked as a Taxi Cab Driver for LaSalle Cab. Bo enjoyed betting horses and in his younger years, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Mr. Cole is survived by four children, Robert (Kimberly) Cole, Donna (Richard) Rotella, Brenda (Frank) Bosley and Kelly (Jim Martino) Ricotta, all of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by two children, Michele (late Robert) McDonald and Cheryl (Donald of Niagara Falls, NY) Morden. Bo is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his mother and two daughters; he was also predeceased by three siblings, Bobby (late Marlene) Cole, Patricia Bryan and David (late Janet) Cole.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, September 21st from 2-4 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Buffalo VA Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215.
