Marjorie L. Merrill

VILLAGE OF LEWISTON —

Marjorie L. (Myers) Merrill of the Village of Lewiston and formerly of Niagara Falls, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was 90. She was born in Wilson, NY on February 20, 1923, a daughter of the late Oliver and Grace (Topping) Myers. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Red Brick School in the Village of Lewiston.
Mrs. Merrill worked in Central Supply at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital for 21 years until her retirement in 1989. She was a longtime member of Niagara Presbyterian Church, was a member of their Over 50 Club, and enjoyed going to her family hunting camp but her greatest joy was her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Merrill is survived by four children, Dale (Mary) DeBacco of Niagara Falls, Jeanette (Hon. Mayor Terry) Collesano of Lewiston, Gary (Sue) DeBacco and Darryl DeBacco of Niagara Falls; four grandchildren, Marisa (Matthew) Adams, Laura (Tim Malysza) DeBacco, Lana (Ned) Perlman, and Dale DeBacco, Jr. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Maggie Claire Adams; two step-grandchildren, Leandra Collesano, Christopher (Mary) Collesano; and two step-great-grandchildren, Christopher and Sophia Collesano. She was predeceased by siblings, Oliver Myers, Ida Wensley, and Thelma Brockway.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Thursday from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Niagara Presbyterian Church, 3712 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14305. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT THE CHURCH. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston. If desired, donations may be made in Mrs. Merrill's name to Niagara Presbyterian Church.
