Kay Kazen

NIAGARA FALLS —

Kay (Majkowski) Kazen, 98, of Mission Viejo, CA, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 19, 1915, she was the daughter of the late William and Teofila (Laszczak) Majkowski.
Kay attended local schools and graduated from Kelly Business Institute in Buffalo, NY. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Church. For many years she owned the Kazen Grocery Store on Hyde Park Boulevard. She then worked for Bell Aerospace as a computer operator for 23 years, after which she retired and went to Florida. Kay and her husband did a lot of traveling.
She is survived by her son, James V. (Marlene) Kazen of California; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank V. Kazen; her daughter, Geri (Dale) Elliot; and sister, Eugenia.
Friends may call on Monday, February 3rd from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th St., cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, February 4th, with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
