NIAGARA FALLS —
Genevieve M. (Lipka) Kopacz, 93 years old, passed away on July 6, 2014 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. She was born in Niagara Falls on February 26, 1921, the daughter of the late Anthony and Maryann Lipka.
Mrs. Kopacz attended Holy Trinity Parochial School and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She and her late husband, Joe, were the owners and operators of Bob's Soda Bar on Niagara and 22nd Streets from 1959 until 1967. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, working crossword puzzles and going to the casino. She was a former member of the St. Teresa's Mother's Club and their Bereavement Kitchen.
Mrs. Kopacz was predeceased by her husband, Joseph W. Kopacz, who passed away on January 9, 1984. She is survived by her children, Barbara (late Mark) Peunic of Niagara Falls, Robert (Marlene) Kopacz of Grand Island and John (Robin) Kopacz and Joseph (Kris) Kopacz, both of Texas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and her step-sister, Lillian Loss of Lewiston. She was predeceased by her brother, Stanley Lipka; and her sister, Olga Surman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 3-7 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 9:30 AM at St. Raphael's Parish, corner of College and Macklem Avenues with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
