NIAGARA FALLS — William Andrakulic, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully at his        residence on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, with his family at his side. He was 90. He was born in Turtle Creek, PA on May 4, 1923, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Susko) Andrakulic. He attended Pennsylvania schools, graduating from Turtle Creek High School in 1940. He then entered the United States Navy in 1942, serving in numerous battle campaigns in World War II.  Upon his honorable discharge on March 2, 1946, he was awarded several commendations, including the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 Battle Star. Mr. Andrakulic then went to work on the Baldwin Railroad in Pennsylvania and then as a machinist for General Motors in Tonawanda, retiring in 1978.

He was longtime member of the Niagara Falls Moose Lodge No. 838, the American Legion 1142, the Amvets and Grace Lutheran Church. He was also a 20-year member of and had many friends at the 9:00 AM Cardiac Rehab Group at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, and he enjoyed coin and stamp collecting and computers, but his greatest joy was his time with his family and friends.

Mr. Andrakulic is survived by five children, Patricia (Ted) Chrzanowski of Lockport, Barney (Naurene) Smith of North Tonawanda, Ronald (Robin) Smith of Athens, TN, William G.         Andrakulic of Niagara Falls, and Florence "Flory" (Michael) Bellreng of Niagara Falls. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth (Cramer) Andrakulic (2005); and siblings, Andrew Andrakulic, Mary Harrison, Anna Odoxta and Helen Andrakulic.

There will be no prior visitation. Burial services, with military honors, will be Friday at 2 PM in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston. If desired, memorial             contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
