TOWN OF NIAGARA —

Gary E. Myers, 58, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life, unexpectedly, on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at his residence. Born on November 29, 1955 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of Harvey Myers of Massachusetts and the late Marjorie (Wheaton) Myers.
Mr. Myers moved to Topsfield, MA as a child with his family, where he attended schools. Gary came to Niagara Falls, NY in 1978.  He earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and his Masters of Business Administration Degree from the University at Buffalo. Later, the State of New York granted him his Professional Engineering License. Mr. Myers married the former Renata "Rene" Santoro in Prince of Peace Church. Gary was employed by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a Chemical Engineer and for twenty-five years as an Engineer and Project Manager for Occidental Chemical. He was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers as well as the National Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. Myers enjoyed remodeling and gardening.
In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Myers is survived by two sisters, Rhonda Sullivan of Massachusetts and Diane (Dale) Krug of Pennsylvania; his mother-in-law, Yolanda (late Lorenzo) Santoro of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister-in-law, Mandarin (Anthony) Giove of Niagara Falls, NY; two brothers-in-law, Lorne Santoro of Niagara Falls, NY and Wayne (Bonnie) Santoro of the Town of Niagara, NY; several nieces and nephews and one great-nephew. Gary is also survived by his beloved Doberman.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 31st at 9:30 AM which will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259-4th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Jacek Mazur serving as celebrant. Prayers of committal will follow in Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the SPCA of Niagara, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
