Jane E. Myers

HOLLIDAYSBURG, PA — Jane E. (Mattern) Myers, 97, of Hollidaysburg, PA, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY for 50 years, died July 7, 2013, at UPMC Altoona. She was born September 15, 1915 in Gaysport, PA, daughter of the late Jeremiah Charles and Mary Blanche (Duganne) Mattern.

She married Chester A. Myers on October 26, 1954 in Zion Lutheran Church,  Hollidaysburg. He predeceased her on March 4, 1993, after having shared 39 years of marriage.

Jane was a volunteer teacher and board member of Child Evangelism Fellowship, Niagara Falls, NY, for 20 years. She was a member of Alliance Church, Altoona, and a former member of Niagara Falls Alliance Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Davis and her husband, Michael B. of Portugal; step-daughter, Gail M. Russo and husband, Joseph of Florida; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, from 2-4 PM at Altoona Alliance Church,    followed by a 4:00 PM memorial service at the church by Reverends Tim McGarvey and Tim    Harrison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Altoona Alliance Church, 1314-12th Street, Altoona, PA 16602; or the ALSM, 915 Hickory Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
