Gordon Edward Bagg

NORTH TONAWANDA — Gordon Edward Bagg, age 89, of North Tonawanda, July 7, 2013 in Northgate Manor Health Care Facility, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Gordon was a WWII Army veteran and served with the 291st Engineers in the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland. He was a life member and past Commander of the V.F.W. Post #9011; he served as County Commander from 1998-2001. He was a member of the American Legion #1451 and AmVets Post #26, and the Bergholz Fire Co. He was a former employee of the Carborundum Company, retiring in 1983. He also worked as a courtesy driver for David Chevrolet and Ray Laks Accura. Gordon was very artistic and enjoyed painting and working with stained glass; he also loved sailboats.

Beloved husband of Bettyjane (nee Hennis) Bagg; dear father of Diane Munn of Orlando, FL, Kathleen (Robin) Tong of Sanborn, Deborah (Chris) Trunzo of Wheatfield, Joanne Brill of Wheatfield, Thomas Bagg of Delevan, NY, and Carolyn (Christopher) Dean of Sarasota, FL. Step-father of the late Stephen and Kevin Granto. Grandfather of 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Jack Bagg and Erhma Beattie; uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM, Chaplin Ron Andrews will officiate. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to Northgate H.C.F. or Niagara Hospice.
