Charles Gabriele

LOCKPORT — Charles Gabriele died at Niagara Hospice in Lockport, NY on July 5, 2013, at the age of 84.

A lifelong Niagara Falls resident, he was born on December 30, 1928, attended Center Ave. Elementary School and was a graduate of Trott High School. He entered the United States Army in 1950 and served as a combat infantryman in Korea during the Korean War. Discharged in 1952, he later went to work for Moore Business Forms as a Pressman for 17 years. He then went to Nabisco where he served as a Supervisor for 15 years, and retired in 1985.

An avid golfer, he loved being with his children and grandchildren and spent many hours on Pine Ave. with his many friends. On October 19, 1953, he married his beloved wife, the late Tommasina (nee Prantera) in Niagara Falls, who passed away in 1971.

He is survived by two sons, Anthony (Frances) of Youngstown, NY and Charles (Susan) Gabriele of Liverpool, NY; two step-daughters, Joanne Graci and Maria Gara, both of Lewiston, NY; eight loving grandchildren, Marissa (Chris) Bonito, Cara, Kaitlyn, Jordyn Gabriele, Nicole (Mark) Scott, Jason Lizzardo, Gabrielle Gara and Patty Lizzardo; a sister-in-law, Irene Gabriele; and many nieces and nephews. He also had a brother, the late John Gabriele.

There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church (Pine Ave. & Tronolone Pl.). All are asked to assemble at the church. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, memorials may be made to  Niagara Hospice Inc. Arrangements by the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME.
