Loretta Moran


Loretta (McEachern) Moran, 99, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Monday, April 21, 2014, at ECMC. Born on October 9, 1914 in Port Hood, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Jesse (McMaster) McEachern.
On May 25, 1949, she married the late James F. Moran in St. Catharines, Ontario. They made their home in Niagara Falls, NY, where they raised their four children. She enjoyed her career at Consolidated Bowling in Niagara Falls, NY, where she was employed from 1962 until 1982. Loretta will always be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and her commitment to put everyone else's wants and needs ahead of her own. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, rooting for the Boston Red Sox and against the New York Yankees.
Loretta was the cherished mother of three sons, Patrick Moran of San Diego, CA, Kevin Moran and Gary Moran, both of Niagara Falls, NY; one daughter, Dolores (John) Glemb of Lockport, NY. She is also survived by her beloved grandson, JC Glemb. Loretta was predeceased by five sisters, Huena O'Malley, Margaret (Marg) Hotson, Christine (Chrissy) McEachern, Monica Moran, and Bernadette (Bernie) Murdock; and four brothers, John, Joe, Don and Harry McEachern.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 AM in St. Vincent DePaul at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Parish or the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
