Audrey M. Ward

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL — Audrey M. Ward, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach, FL.

She was born in Josephine, PA on August 19, 1925, a daughter of the late Todd and Leila Mae (Helman) Rager.

Mrs. Ward attended local schools  in Blairville, PA and graduated from Blairville High School in 1943. In 1945 she moved to Niagara Falls and started to work at Kimberly Clark for nine years. She became a housewife and raised her children.

Mrs. Ward enjoyed gardening, camping, playing bingo, casino gaming, card playing and traveling. For the past 20 years she had spent her summers in Niagara Falls and her winters in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Ward; they were married on June 6, 1953; two sons, Robert (Renee) Ward of Lockport, NY and  William (Mary) Ward of Ormond Beach, FL; two daughters, Linda (Chris)  Buchalski of Niagara Falls, NY  and Donna (Richard Messing) Ward of Deltona, FL; two brothers, Carl (Wanda) Rager and Robert Rager; a sister, Janet (Abe) Brinks; two sisters-in-law, Joan (late Thomas) Ward and Carol (late Buzzy) Rhoney. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William, Todd, Donald Rager, Patricia Reese, Dorothy Pavlick.

The family will be present on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:15 AM, followed by a  Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Prince of Peace Church, 1055 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Inurnment in Gate of Heaven, Lewiston, NY.
