NIAGARA FALLS —
Jean (Kephart) Hoopsick Penque, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY, peacefully closed her earthly journey on November 22, 2013 listening to her favorite hymn, "Will the Circle be Unbroken," with her loving family by her side. Jean began her life in 1932, daughter of Ezekiel and Bessie (Rowles) Kephart of Osceola Mills, PA. She is the sister of Denver (Rose) Kephart, Norman Kephart and Norma Couderiet. Jean now joins her siblings Ezekial, Oscar, Samuel Kephart and Margaret Kennedy in heavenly bliss.
Jean had a big heart and large family to share her love with. She married John Hoopsick in 1947, and together they had ten children. Jean shared 42 years of marriage with John, until his death in 1989. Together they reside in heaven with their oldest son, John D. "Butch" Hoopsick, who passed in 1991. She leaves behind her surviving children, Winnie Rice, Judith (George) Muldoon, Mary Kay (Dale Peck) Wilson, Laurie (E.J.) Rice, Melissa (Michael) Levering, Melinda (Douglas) Minteer, Victoria (Timothy) Russ, Joseph (Katona) Hoopsick, Peter Hoopsick; and two grandchildren, John Hoopsick II and Christina Faultersack, whom she raised as her own. She is also survived by twenty other grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, two half sisters and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jean was given a second chance at love in 1991 when she married Joseph Penque. After successfully battling breast cancer, they enjoyed a decade living in Las Vegas, NV and had 17 years of blissful married, until her husband's passing in 2008. Some of her favorite pastimes include traveling, going to the casino, playing bingo, dominoes and cards as well as spending time with her family. Despite coming from a large family and having many children of her own, Jean had even more love to share; she worked many years in healthcare, showing compassion and care for others. Goodness and mercy followed her all the days of her life, and she will dwell in the house of the lord forever.
