Wilbur "Blaine" Lowman, of the Town of Niagara, died on Friday, October 12, 2012 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. He was 80. Born in Clymer, PA on Christmas Day in 1931, he was the son of Wilbur H. and Bessie Marie (Lydic) Lowman. He was educated in Pennsylvania, moving to Niagara Falls when he was 20.
Mr. Lowman worked for the former Olin Chemical Company, Allied Chemical and retired from Tonawanda Coke as Supervisor in 1998. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and quality time with his family.
Survivors include three children, Wilbur Neil Lowman of North Tonawanda; Michele Mort (Edward) of Ransomville; Edward Dean Lowman of Niagara Falls; siblings, Mildred Ratay (late Charles) of Heilwood, PA; T. Carol Eddlings (Darrell) of Youngstown; Kenneth Lowman (Kathy) of the Town of Niagara; four grandchildren, Robert Lowman, Melissa Golembek, Edward Mort (Heather) and Moria Mort; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Constance Patricia (Burke) Lowman in 1991; and siblings, Lois McCullough, Joyce Kaufman, Sharon Patterson and Kathy Edmundston.
Friends may call Wednesday after 11 AM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where services will be held at 1 PM. The interment will be private in Riverdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of one's choice.
