Elsie Young Johnson


Elsie Young Johnson, a native of Niagara Falls, passed away at her home in Port Orange, FL under Hospice Care, on May  29, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Edward J. Johnson; daughters, Judy (Gary) Heppner and Rita (George) Ball; sons, Edward K. (Jane) Johnson, Raymond (Katherine) Johnson, William (Suzanne) Johnson, Mark (Diane) Johnson, Paul (Terri) Johnson and James (Denise) Johnson; 24 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren; her sister, Janice (Robert) Gomesky; her aunt, Anna Wojton; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Jane Young; her sisters, Dolores Reilly and Sharon Kowalski Skolnick.
She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and Mercy Hospital South Buffalo Nursing. She was employed at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital and Fairchild Nursing Home in Lewiston, NY.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, June 14th at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 4601 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY. Intermittent will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hailfax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Tr., Port Orange, FL  32129.
