Peter W. MacPherson

NIAGARA FALLS — Peter W. MacPherson, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at his home, under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice.

He  was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on June 20, 1940, the son of the late Earl and Frances (Bellinger) MacPherson.

Mr. MacPherson graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1959. He was a construction worker with Scrufari Construction Company for over 30 years and later with  Metallics, where he retired after several years.

Mr. MacPherson was actively involved with the Boy Scouts for over 25 years, coaching Whirlpool Park basketball, soccer and softball teams and with MUNY basketball. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #247 and was Past President of the Jaycees.

Mr. MacPherson enjoyed spending time with his family, boating on Wasaga Beach and trips to Sherkston Beach.  

He was the husband of the late Judithanne V. "Judie" (Bruno) MacPherson, who died in         December of 2009.

He is survived by three daughters, Melissa (late John) Marrara, Rachel (Bob Kujawa) Gee and Marre (Frank) Campbell; eight grandchildren, Bianca and Nicholas Marrara, William and Cameron Gee, Marina, Marissa, Samantha and Peter Campbell. Mr. MacPherson was the brother of the late Carol Guillari.

The family will be present on Wednesday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael Roman Catholic Parish, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Memorials may be made in his  name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY  14094. Entombment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
