James D. "Jimmy James" Kankolenski

LEWISTON — At age 50, Jimmy, went to join his brother Bill, on Friday, May 9, 2014. He died suddenly at his residence in Lewiston, NY.

He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on February 21, 1964, the son of William P. and Mary S. (Gourlay) Kankolenski of Lewiston, NY.

Jimmy graduated from Lewiston Porter High School and had attended Niagara County          Community College.

He proudly served four years in the US Air Force (following his brother's Footsteps) where he was a lineman and started his career as an electrician. Jimmy was employed with Dunlop Tire in North Tonawanda, for many years.

He was an avid sportsman, spending his free time with his dad and brothers at "The Camp" in the Southern Tier and ice fishing in Canada. His nephews also enjoyed hunting with their Uncle Jim at the camp. Jimmy was always accompanied by his dog, "Patches".

He along with his great sense of humor, will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by "The Love of his Life", his daughter, Olivia Kankolenski; a brother, John K. Kankolenski of Lewiston, NY; a sister, Donna J. (Larry) Capatosto of  Palmdale, CA, and his former wife, Jacqueline McIntyre. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jimmy was the brother of the late William "Bill" Kankolenski, who died on May 13, 2013.

The family will be present on Thursday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM,  with Msgr. David G. LaPuma officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the charity of one's choice. Interment  with military honors in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
