Dorothy Bailey

NIAGARA FALLS —

Dorothy (Campbell) Bailey, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 in Schoellkopf Health Care Center, Niagara Falls. Born on February 10, 1927, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, she lived there with her parents and two brothers until her marriage to Herbert Bailey in 1948. Dorothy became a naturalized United States citizen.
She was a caring and active mother and as her three children grew, Dorothy returned to work as a medical transcriptionist, working with a private x-ray office on Main Street, Niagara Falls until her retirement in 1988. She was a trusted friend to many being ever so kind and beloved for her peace making nature. Dorothy loved to travel having visited most of the United States and Canada. She truly enjoyed her three trips touring England the most.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herbert Bailey; three children, Craig (Frances Henry) Bailey, Pam (Marc) Sroufe, Neil (Sharon Montgomery) Bailey; five grandchildren, Tom, Jason, Cara, Jocelyn and Joshua as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call  on Sunday, December 22, 2013 after 4 PM in Riverside Presbyterian Church, 815- 84th Street, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will be held at 5 PM. Interment will be private in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario. Memorials in her name may be made to Alzheimer's and Disease Research of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or online www.alzfdn.org, click donate, Opt. 1; Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or a charity of your choice.
