Joseph C. "Pino" Morreale

NIAGARA FALLS — Joseph C. "Pino" Morreale, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at his residence, under the care of Niagara Hospice and surrounded by his loving family. Born in Termini, Imeresi, Palermo, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Francesca (Boscarino) Morreale.

Joseph was educated in Italy and served in the Italian Army during World War II. In December 1953, he married Nancy (Aguglia) Morreale in Italy. In 1955 he and his wife traveled with their infant daughter on the Andrea Doria to New York City and settled in Niagara Falls, NY, where he lived until the present time. He was employed at Pittsburgh Metallurgical and later at the Ramada Inn, both in Niagara Falls, NY. Pino, as he was       affectionately known, was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. He was a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, the Palermo Soccer Team and the World Cup Soccer in his favorite chair. He also liked watching classic movies, particularly westerns. Pino loved assisting family members with repairs on their cars and homes and also enjoyed cooking. But most of all, Joseph was a devout husband to his beloved wife, Nancy, and a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending reassured moments with all of them.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Mr. Morreale is survived by three loving children, Francine M. Young of Tonawanda, NY; Vincent "Jim" L. (Diane J.) Morreale of North Canton, OH and Robert J. (Christine) Morreale of Wheatfield, NY; nine loving grandchildren, Christina, Brian,  Anthony (Michelle), Matthew, Shawn, Nicholas, Nicole, Alexa and Doug; and one great-granddaughter, Serenity. Joseph was the second oldest of 11 siblings. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Friday from 6-9 PM at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9th in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S., officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial donations may be made to     Summit Educational Resources, 150 Stahl Rd., Getzville, NY 14068.
