Corigan Sanoian


Corigan Sanoian, 83, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Facility in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Hagop and Haiganoosh "Helen" (Sarkissian) Sanoian.
Corigan attended local schools and worked for Jacob Fruchtbaum Consulting Engineers on Sheridan Drive in Buffalo, NY, and as Town Engineer for the Town of Niagara, NY. He later worked as a private consulting engineer for many projects in the Niagara Falls area. On August 18, 1962, he married Lollie (Gamboian) Sanoian in St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church in Niagara Falls, NY. During the Korean War, he served in the United States Army form February 12, 1951 until his honorable discharge on January 24, 1953, and was a member of the Armenian Veterans Association. Most importantly, Corigan centered his life on his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of fifty years, he is survived by three children, Jeffrey (Margo) Sanoian, Brett Sanoian, and Holly (Nicholas) Garone; six grandchildren, Zachary and Matthew Sanoian, Isabella, Giavanna, Nicholas Rocco, and Athena Garone; and a brother, Sarkee Sanoian. He was the brother-in-law of Dave (Shirley) Gamboian, Sam "Smiley" Gamboian, Margie (Dominic) Balassone, and Michael (Marlene) Gamboian.
Visitation will be Monday, December 10th from 10:00-11:30 AM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will immediately follow at 11:30 AM with Rev. Judith Burrows, officiating. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Flowers are graciously declined and memorials may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 140 Rainbow Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY 14303 or St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church, 322-9th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
