Sr. Lucy Hasler, O.S.F.

STELLA NIAGARA — Sr. Lucy Hasler, O.S.F., formerly of Warsaw, Holley and Kendall, NY, passed away on November 19, 2012. Born on October 5, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Grenauer Hasler.

She entered Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, Stella Niagara, NY, on February 2, 1938. She professed at Stella Niagara on August 17, 1938. She worked in religious education in the parish pastoral ministry at St. Joseph (Gowanda) 1939-1952, St. Anthony (Warsaw) 1952-1970, St. Michael (Warsaw) 1970-1982, St. Mary (Holley) 1982-2005, St. Mark (Kendall) 2005-2009 and retired to Stella Niagara Health Center in April of 2009.

She was the  the cousin of Carl (Kathy) Janish and Bob (Diane) Janish.

Friends may call on Friday at Stella Niagara, 4421 Lower River Rd., from 2-5 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday morning at Stella Niagara Chapel. If desired, memorials may be made, in Sr. Lucy's name, to Sisters of St. Francis of Stella Niagara, NY or Crohn's & Collitis Foundation of America W.N.Y., 5140 Main St., Buffalo, NY 14221.
