Wanda M. Gais

NIAGARA FALLS — On April 9, 2013, Wanda M. Gais, 76, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on January 27, 1937 to the loving union of Gilbert Reid Hayden and Mildred Viola King (Hayden) in Floyd, VA. She was the eldest of three siblings. She moved to Niagara Falls in 1942 as a young girl and attended local schools. She graduated from Niagara Community College and attended Buffalo State College. She married in 1954 to Leeverne Louis Holland, Sr. To this union they had six children. She later married Donald Elton Gais, who predeceased her. Wanda worked various jobs and retired from Invenex Pharmaceuticals after over 20 years of service. She was a faithful member of Potter's House Christian Community Church and was dearly referred to as "Mother."

She leaves to mourn six children, Jacqueline Reed (Jesse), Cincinnati, OH; Karen Smith (Wavley), Lawrenceville, GA; Teresa Zeigler, Las Vegas, NV; Patrice Woods (Glen), Clarksville, TN; Leeverne Louis Holland, Jr., Niagara Falls, NY;  and Janice Longboat (Robert), Niagara Falls, NY; two sisters, MaryAnn Robinson (Sam) and Hazel Willis (Bennie); ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Marva C. Frails.. She also leaves to cherish her loving memory two very special friends, Ms. Vivian Watkins and Mr. Jerome Smith.

A wake will be held for friends and family from 6-8 PM on Friday and from 10-11 AM on Saturday with Funeral Services to follow at 11 AM in the Potter's House Christian Community Church, 723-7th St. Burial in Riverdale Cemetery. Arrangements by WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME, 635 Main St.
