Dorothy A. Lanasa

LEWISTON — Dorothy A. (Spengler) Lanasa, a longtime resident of North Tonawanda, entered into rest February 1, 2014 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was 84. She was born in Scranton, PA on July 8, 1929, the daughter of Anthony and Dora Spengler.

Mrs. Lanasa touched many people in her life, whether it was her fellow employees, friends or members of the Free Wheelers Car Club where she was affectionately known as "Mother Free  Wheeler".

She was the beloved wife of Anthony Lanasa; dear mother and stepmother of Donna (Tom) Hunt and Sheryl Leffler, Donald Lanasa and Dan (Raphaelle) Lanasa; cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ed (Ann) Spengler, Art (Reeva) Spengler and Ruth (Rudy) Raynack.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where prayers will be said at 8 PM, with the Rev. Jim Bastian officiating. The interment will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery.
