Rose M. Marchetti


Rose M. (Budlong) Marchetti, 83, of Grand Island, NY, died on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Tonawanda, NY. Born in Erie, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Huber) Budlong.
Rose attended school in Pennsylvania and came to the Niagara Falls area in the mid 1940's. She worked at and owned various area restaurants in both Erie and Niagara counties. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Church on Grand Island where she faithfully volunteered much of her time and was awarded the Woman of the Year Award for her service. Rose was a kind and loving woman who was always helping others. She served as a volunteer worker at Good Samaratin Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, traveling and baking. Rose especially loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Angelo Marchetti; four children, Anthony T. (Jeannie) Rodgers of Wheatfield, NY, Sandra (Mark) Leaming of West Palm Beach, FL, Mark A. (Margaret) Marchetti of the Town of Niagara, Robert Rodgers of Florida and was predeceased by one son, James Rodgers. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, Anthony, Thomas, Regina, Deanna, Victoria, Mark Angelo, Crystal, Jamie, Stacey, Robert, Jimmy, Michelle, Kristene, Roberta, Lisa and Vanessa and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Robert Huber.
Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Rd., Niagara Falls, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 12 Noon at St. Stephen Church, 2100 Baseline Rd., Grand Island, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Stephen Cemetery, Grand Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090-6231.
