Pasquale V. "Pat" Bucci, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in his Hyde Park Blvd. home. He was born on May 20, 1934 in Gagliano, Aterno, Abruzzi, Italy to the late Pietro and Margarita "Lena" (DeRobes) Bucci.
He came to Niagara Falls in 1947 at the age of 13 and attended local schools. Over the years, Pasquale worked as a crane operator for Union Carbide and a pallet maker for Forgione Lumber Co., retiring in the mid 1990's. After his retirement, he worked in maintenance for Spallino-Amigone Funeral Home from 1999 until 2002. Patsy was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, former officer and member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society serving as Sargent-at-Arms from 2000-2003. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed bowling, soccer and bocce. An active volunteer for the Pine Avenue Business Association and would be seen watering the flowers up and down Pine Avenue. He was dubbed the "Mayor of Pine Avenue" because he was best-known for being seen sitting on his rollator at different strategic corners on Pine Ave. and socializing with everyone that passed. His greatest joy was when his granddaughter, Allison, was born.
Pasquale is survived by two sons, Peter (Robin) Bucci of Canandaigua, NY and Vincent Bucci of Colorado Springs, CO; his granddaughter, Allison Bucci of Canandaigua, NY; his sister-in-law, Barbara Bucci of the Town of Niagara; one niece, Jennifer Bucci; and a nephew, Robert Bucci. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, the late Robert Bucci.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday morning from 9:00-10:30 AM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, where prayers will be said at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street & Independence Ave., Niagara Falls, NY at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Friends invited.
