Dominee Jakubczyk

NIAGARA FALLS — Dominee Jakubczyk, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in Buffalo General Hospital. She was 92. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York, on February 15, 1919, the daughter of Boniface and Maryann (Rybacki) Jakubowski.

She attended local schools, graduating from high school. She was a longtime employee of the Carborundum Company as a clerical typist at the Buffalo Avenue location and retired from its Wheatfield location after 31 years. Mrs. Jakubczyk was a longtime member of St. Leos Church. A loving and caring lady, she also loved animals and as an avid Buffalo Sabres fan, she faithfully cheered for her team.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Bill Jakubczyk in 1985. Survivors include a son, Daniel (Bonnie) Jakubczyk; two grandchildren, Dennis Jakubczyk (Gail) of Cameron, NC and Nancy Jakubczyk of Normal, IL; and her nephew, John Jakubczyk (Gail) of Niagara Falls.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where prayers will be said on Friday at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John de LaSalle RC Church. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Town of Lewiston. If desired, memorials may be made in her name to the Niagara County S.P.C.A., 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
