NIAGARA FALLS —
Margaret A. (Ciavatta) Cram, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Elderwood Health Care at Riverwood in Grand Island, NY. She was the daughter of the late Marino and Irma Ciavatta.
Margaret was born in Detroit, MI and moved to San Marino, Italy with her family at the age of five, and returned to Niagara Falls, NY, when she was nineteen years old. Margaret began working in production at the former Carborundum Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY, in the late 1940's. She later worked as a cook at Niagara University in Lewiston, NY, Macri's Restaurant in Niagara Falls, NY, Niagara Hilton in Niagara Falls, NY, and Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. She married Hamilton T. Cram in Niagara Falls, NY in 1952. Mr. Cram predeceased her in 1987. Mr. and Mrs. Cram were avid members of the American Legion Frederick Cadille Post #1664 in Niagara Falls, NY. Margaret enjoyed cooking, reading and was a viewer of TV soap operas and game shows. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Cram is survived by her daughter, Arlene (Jack A., NFPD) Miljour of Niagara Falls, NY. She was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara A. Bergey. Margaret is also survived by eight grandchildren, Michelle Bergey, Carrie Bergey, Michael Bergey, Jr., Teresa Bergey, Jennifer (Bojan) Karastojanovski, Matthew Bergey, Jack M. (Cheryl) Miljour, Robert R. Miljour, and the late Richard H. Miljour; three great-grandchildren, Sterling Brown, Sienna and Hayden Miljour; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Remo Ciavatta.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Saturday, October 13th at 11:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 NOON at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. and Independence Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorials may be made to Elderwood Health Care at Riverwood, 2850 Grand Island Blvd., Grand Island, NY 14072 or Our Lady of Mt.
