NIAGARA FALLS —
Pasquale "Patsy" LaGatta, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center on Friday, January 10, 2014. Born in Sulmona, Italy, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Elena (DiFelice) LaGatta.
Patsy immigrated to the United States with his family as a child. He worked at Occidental Chemical Company until his retirement in 2000. Patsy had also owned and operated the former Everybody's Florist in Niagara Falls, NY for many years. In 1967 he married Linda L. (Muoio) LaGatta. Mrs. LaGatta predeceased him on May 3, 1979. Patsy was a member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society and enjoyed playing bocce with the Hyde Park Bocce League, both in Niagara Falls, NY. He was an amazing cook and will be remembered for his fabulous homemade pizza.
Mr. LaGatta is survived by his two children, Gina M. LaGatta and Leonard LaGatta, both of Grand Island, NY; his brother, Giuseppe "Joe" (Rosemarie) LaGatta, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by his long-time companion, Patricia Newell of Niagara Falls, NY. Patsy was predeceased by two sisters, Maria (Fabrizio "Joe" of Niagara Falls, NY) Soffritti and Teresa LaGatta.
Visitation will be Sunday 3-7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Monday, January 13th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
