Joseph E. Moran III

ELMIRA — Joseph E. Moran III, age 42, of Horseheads, NY, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2014, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. Joe was surrounded by his loving family as he entered the gates of Heaven.

Joe was born on May 1, 1971 in Niagara Falls, NY, son of Joseph and Linda (Candido) Moran.

Joe had been a long-time employee of Corning Inc., as a computer systems engineer, and a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Our Mother Church.  

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Hope (Baird) Moran; children, Joseph IV, Claire Elizabeth and Molly Katherine Moran; parents, Joseph and Linda of Wilson, NY; siblings, Michael (Willow) Moran of Lockport, NY, Liz (Dan) Bagwell and Kate (Jim) Madan, both of Wilson, NY; nieces and nephews, Jonny Moran, Brianna Bagwell, Alex, Nathan and Eliott Moran, James and Lucy Madan, Chloe and Haley Baird; father and mother-in-law, Douglas and Peggy Baird of Newport, NC; brother-in-law, Douglas (Angie) Baird of Wilmington, NC. Joseph was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Joseph Sr. and Gertrude Moran and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Veronica Candido.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Christopher Linsler as celebrant, on Wednesday, January 8th, at 11 AM in St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads, NY 14845. In lieu of flowers, a memorial account has been established to benefit the Moran children at Corning Credit Union, 1 Credit Union Plaza, PO Box 1450, Corning, NY 14830. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with care of the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
