Edward Salvatore Falsetti

BUFFALO — Edward Salvatore Falsetti, 87, of Lockport, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Buffalo General Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Gaetano "Guy" and Rachel Cora (Bosso) Falsetti.

Ed grew up in Niagara Falls, NY. After high school he served in the United States Army and then he worked at Union Carbide. He attended the University of Buffalo, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Ed became a Licensed Professional Engineer, worked at Chemical Design and later started Mesch Engineering. Ed also was a founding partner of AFPS, a company that performed testing and R&D for GM/Delphi. He continued engineering work as a consultant until his passing. He also enjoyed playing golf and sailing, serving as the Commodore of the Olcott Yacht Club. He was especially proud of his 57 years of service in the Lions Club, where he had served in the Olcott Chapter as secretary, president, Board of Directors, editor of the newsletter and was honored to          become a Life Member. Ed was noted for happily helping in many of the Olcott Lions Club Polar Bear "Swim for Sight" days, and for his unflagging sense of humor.

Mr. Falsetti was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann (Loncto) Falsetti. He is survived by his sons, John J. Falsetti, James S. (Nannette) Falsetti and Guy T. (Jill) Falsetti; his daughter, Susan C. Falsetti-Breeloff and was predeceased by a son, Edward W. Falsetti. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth DiChiara; brothers, Dr. Dominic (Margaret) Falsetti and Dr. Herman (Jan) Falsetti; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ed was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph R. Falsetti; sisters, Rosario "Rose" Gallo and Marie Alexander.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA  FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday, January 7th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent DePaul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Rd., Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Olcott Lions Club.
