Garner C. Marshall


Garner C. Marshall, a longtime resident of the area, died on Thursday, January 2, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House. He was 81. He was born in Capeville, VA on September 29, 1932, the son of Garner C. Marshall, Sr. and Eulah Harrell             Marshall. Mr. Marshall was a Veteran of the US Air Force.
A member of St. James United Methodist Church, he was active with its dirt devils and served as an usher there. He retired from National Grinding Wheel in 1987 as a machine operator. Affectionately known as the "Bike Man of Deveaux", he enjoyed repairing bicycles in the neighborhood. He was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Patricia (Parker) Marshall; sons, Kevin Marshall (Maria) and Darren Marshall (Lisa), both of Niagara Falls; his stepchildren, Karen Boynton (Ken) of Dallas, GA, Steven Westerman (Sheryl) of Rochester; grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Christopher, Kragh, Molly, Steven and Jennifer Marshall; step-grandchildren, Kirsten Lewis (Ben), Jennifer Boynton, Misty Boynton and PJ Hayhurst; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Elizabeth Richards, Dennard Harrell Marshall and Agnes Mims.
Friends are invited to attended Memorial Services on Saturday at 1 PM in St. James United Methodist Church,  4661 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14305 with the Rev. Daryl Bennett officiating. Interment will be private in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton. If desired, memorials may be made to St. James Church or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094. The LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., is handling the arrangements.
