KIDS TALK: What's has been your greatest challenge?

CHALLENGE QUESTION: Sharing their thoughts about facing their greatest challenges were Girl Scouts from Lockport’s Troop 945, including: Adrea Goodman, Elizabeth Falls, Caelan O’Neill, Jordan Vazques, Mariah Carr, Brooke Sanford, and Libby Powers.



Girl Scouts from Lockport Troop 945 share their most challenging moments



“What was the greatest challenge you ever faced?” That was the question we posed to girl scouts from Lockport’s Girl Scout Troop 945, who range in ages from 7 to 13. Here are some of their very interesting answers:



Trying to help stop global warming.

Samantha Davis - Age 12



Finding out my friend was moving this summer...My biggest challenge will be saying goodbye.

Kathryn Krawczyk - Age 11



A five mile walk in the wintertime.

Andrea Goodman - Age 8



Riding my first roller coaster.

Kindrea Robinson - Age 11



When I started at Emmet Belknap. I was so worried I was going to forget my locker combo and be late for class. That neer happened, yet. Now the year is almosts over and its a piece of cake. I don’t know why I was scared.

Elizabeth Ellis - Age12



When my mom had my sister. I was the only child and I got everything I wanted. I did not get all the attention.

Christe Harmon - Age 12



When one of my best friends Rachel took me champing at Darien Lake and the next day we went on rides and we went on the V iper and I was so scared. After we got off I loved that roller coaster.

Lindsay Ellis - Age 11



Having a house fire because I lost almost everything and my cat died. One of the fireman (threw up) on the lawn. The people that put the house back did not do a good job. We had to stay in a one bedroom apartment. It was not fun.

Caelan O’Neill - Age 7



Learning how to play the flute. It was always hard for me no matter how much I practiced. I could not memorize the finger notes and how much air to put into the mouth piece. It turned out that all I needed to do was have extra help and practice more. Now it is easy.

Marnie Hopcia - Age 10



The greatest challenge I have ever faced is when I tore my ligament while skiing and had to go to physical therapy. It took at long time stretching it and making it go back into place.

Annie Lynch - Age 10



Learning all the rules of soccer in two weeks and then joining a whole new team and playing a match with a hurt leg.

Ola Noras - Age 11



Learning to play the flute and memorizing the fingerings and how to blow air and make the sound come out.

Jenna Spencer - Age 10



My first roller coaster. It was very scarey.

Mariah Carr - Age 7



Becoming a middle schooler and learning how to run with my schedule, open my locker, and adjusting from elementary school. It took a while, but I finally got used to it.

Abby Hasley - Age 13



It was trying out for the modified track and volleyball team. It was a lot of running and a lot of strength.

Briana Sanford - Age 12



My greatest challenge was going to All County (music competition) because I had to learn lots of music for All-County plus lessons and band music and the nerve wrecking auditions.

Brittany Sanford - Age 10



Suffering the loss of my Aunt Sally. She was taken by cancer in her spine. She had surgery to get it removed but it was inside the bone. I got most of her stuff so there are lots of memories still around me. I miss her more than the world. I love you Aunt Sally.

Jordan Quinones - Age 12



That we didn’t have enough money for my braces and I really needed them.

When my dog had to be put down because she had cancer in her neck.

Climbing the highest mountain in Vermont, Mt. Mansfield. The hike was over 6.2 miles long. I was so sore the next day I couldn’t even move. It was definitely a life time experience but I don’t think I could do it again.

The greatest challenge is learning to play the clarinet and to learn to ride my bike.

Playing the french horn because of all the air you blowin it.

When my family had a family meeting about grandma...they found that my grandma was dead. At her funeral was one of the first ties I ever saw my dad cry. Everyone was glad she died because we said that she was in heaven, juming and rejoicing that she could swallow and feel her lef.

Parting with friends that weren’t the best of friends.

When I had this obsession with a guy at my school and everyone called me a stalker and things like that.

The greatest challenge that I had was going down a snowhill and the first time I went down the hill with my dad and he fell on top of me and my leg hurt so bad.
