NCCC exhibit focuses on New Foundland 'walkabout'

Night & Day — The Dolce Valvo Art Center at Niagara County Community College is hosting “a • new • found • land” exhibit by photographer Joe Ziolkowski, running through Nov. 22 at the college.

The exhibit features three distinct but related photographic portfolios:

• “Digital Chronicles” — color panoramic journal photographs

• “a • new • found • land” — black and white pinhole photographs

• “a Moment in Time” — looping multi-media video

The work stems from the Batavia resident’s personal journey, originally conceived as a recuperative 23 day “walkabout” in Newfoundland in the summer of 2011.

Ziolkowski is currently an Instructor of Photography at the Genesee Community College. His website is joe-ziolkowski.com.

The Dolce Valvo Art Center’s hours are noon to 5 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, noon to 3 p.m. Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. It is located in NCCC’s D building at 3111 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn.
