THURSDAY: NY good government groups seek state ethics reform (10:09 a.m.)

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Good government groups in Albany are urging Gov. David Paterson and New York lawmakers to address the ethics scandals that have recently plagued state government.

The advocates are presenting ideas to reform the state’s ethics law and promote openness and accountability in government.

The groups include the League of Women Voters and the New York Public Interest Research Group. They’re holding a news conference in Albany Thursday to unveil their proposals for changing New York’s ethics law.
