Local residents can enjoy three full day of fireworks starting this holiday weekend at various Niagara locations.
City of Lockport
Lockport will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks and music Saturday at Outwater Park. Once again the American Legion Band of the Tonawandas is set to perform at 7:30 p.m. and food and beverages will be available from 6 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m.
Newfane
The Town of Newfane Tourism Committee and the Olcott Beach Community Association will sponsor two days of Independence Day celebrations, beginning with a fireworks display over Lake Ontario from the west pier at 10 p.m. Thursday. At 12:30 p.m. Friday, the Patriot’s Parade begins at Krull Park’s parking lot and continues to Carousel Park, where the parade will end with a carousel ride. A free patriotic concert is scheduled at Olcott’s town square from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Royalton
The Royalton Fourth of July Committee will present a family-oriented celebration Friday at Gasport Royalton Ravine Park. Tickets are available in advance from $7.50, or the day of the event for $8. Advance tickets include parking. Festivities begin at 2 p.m. with a chicken barbecue and spaghetti dinner will be served. A parade will take place at 4 p.m. and performances by the bands “Last Call” and “Redhouse” are scheduled for 5 p.m. A kid’s tent will be on site with a $5 fee, which includes a petting zoo, crafts and games. Fireworks begin at dusk.
Pendleton
A fireworks display will begin at dusk Friday behind Pendleton Town Hall, 6570 Campbell Blvd. The rain date is Saturday.
