Rabies bait drop taking place this week

Niagara Gazette — An oral rabies vaccine drop is scheduled to take place Tuesday in Niagara and Erie counties.

The drop by the U.S. Department of Agriculture is aimed at controlling rabies in wildlife. According to James Devald, Niagara county environmental health director, almost 204,000 bait packages will be dropped around the two counties.

The drop is mostly aerial, but hand baiting will take place in Niagara Falls.

The bait packages are plastic blister packs coated with a fat/wax attractant. They contain a live virus, liquid vaccine and should not be handled by humans or domestic animals, Devald said.

For dogs, cats and ferrets, the Niagara County health department’s next free rabies vaccination clinic will be held Sept. 21 at the Lockport town highway garage.

Yes. Items should be taxed like they are everywhere else.
No, the indian reservations are sovereign land and they are selling them on their land.
Not up to me. Native Americans decide the rules on their land.
Don't care. Smoking isn't good for you.
