Niagara County Sheriff's investigators are looking into a stabbing following a road rage incident Friday night on Dysinger Road.
A Town of Lockport man told deputies he was driving home about 10:30 p.m. Friday and had his high-beams due to heavy rains. As he pulled into the parking lot of his apartment complex on Dysinger Road, a car followed him in and a 23-year-old City of Lockport man confronted him about driving with the high beams on.
The driver said the city man then began punching and kicking him while he was trying to get out of the car. The driver said he grabbed his pocket knife and swung it at his attacker but was unsure if he actually hit the man. The attacker got back into his car and drove off.
The deputy said the driver showed signs of being assaulted and turned over the knife, but the deputy said it had been washed off prior to his arrival.
Shortly thereafter, the deputy was informed that the other man had checked into a local hospital and was being treated for stab wounds to his right and left arms.
The deputy was able to locate the person who drove the man to the hospital and she told him she had been sitting in a car with him in the Dysinger Road parking lot when a car drove in with its high beams on. She said the man left the car and returned a short time later saying he needed to go to the hospital but she didn't see what happened.
The matter is being investigated.
