State Police, sheriff's office team up to make 8 county DWI arrests this weekend

The New York State Police joined forces with the Niagara County Sheriffs Office this past weekend to man two DWI checkpoints.

The first was held Saturday night in Lockport and the second was held Sunday following the Buffalo Bills game in the Town of Pendleton. A saturation detail was also held Sunday night.

Eight people were charged:

City of Niagara Falls

• Michael A. Bovanizer, 32 of Niagara Falls was charged with DWI on Sunday. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.12 percent.

Town of Niagara 

• Francis J. Hansen, 51, of Niagara Falls was charged with DWI on Sunday. BAC was measured at 0.12 percent.

Pendleton

• Douglas W. Papke, 44, of North Tonawanda, was charged with DWI. BAC was measured at 0.12 percent.

• Roland Jamieson, 36, of North Tonawanda, was charged with DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana. BAC was measured at 0.09 percent.

• Gerald E. Starling, 53, of Williamsville, was charged with DWI. BAC was measured at 0.10 percent.

• Renee Larcom, 36, of North Tonawanda, was charged with DWI and refusal to submit to a breath test.

Town of Lockport

• Michael Beahr, 29, of Akron was charged with DWI on Saturday. BAC was measured at 0.13 percent.

• Briana C. Paoli, 24, of Lockport, was charged with DWAI on Saturday. BAC was measured at 0.07 percent.
