Man ejected from car in Thruway crash

State police say two people have been taken to Buffalo hospitals after their vehicle crashed off the Thruway and overturned.

Trooper say the car was traveling in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 when it crashed around 1:30 a.m. Monday in the Erie County town of Newstead, 15 miles east of Buffalo.

Police say a man in the vehicle was ejected when it rolled over. He was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center. A woman in the car was taken to another hospital. Information on their conditions isn't available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.



Police: Man fatally shot during dispute

Police in Buffalo say they're investigating the fatal shooting of a man who was gunned down during a dispute on a city street over the weekend.

Authorities say the man was shot around 1 a.m. Sunday on William Street on the city east side.

Police haven't released the man's name or age. Homicide detectives are investigating.



Boy, 12, dies after ATV flips over 

Authorities say a 12-year-old boy has died in an all-terrain vehicle accident in a rural upstate New York town.

State police tell local media outlets that the boy was using an ATV on Sunday morning to remove a post on property in the Chemung County town of Baldwin, near the Pennsylvania border 85 miles south of Rochester.

Police say when the boy accelerated, the ATV flipped over on top of him.

He was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital in nearby Elmira, where he later died.

His name hasn't been released.
