Miller sets Falcons butterfly record

Niagara Gazette — Josh Miller broke the Niagara-Wheatfield record in the 100 butterfly Friday with a time of 54.66 seconds to lead the Falcons in a 102-76 win over Kenmore West.

Miller also won the 50 freee and was part of the winning 200 medley and 200 free relay teams.

Dan Peltier won the 200 IM and the 100 breast and was part of two winning relays as well.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Nia.-Wheatfield 45,

Will. East 40

Melissa Smith had 11 points, six assists and four steals Friday to lead the Falcons in the season-opening win. Rachel Pawlak added 14 points and four assists for the Falcons and Kirsten Klettke grabbed eight rebounds.

Niagara Catholic 39,

Buffalo Seminary 27

Danielle Devole had 12 poitns and 14 rebounds for the Patriots (2-0). Marina Campbell had 11 points.

Newfane 41,

Lew-Port 40

Katie Shaw scored 14 points to lead the Panthers. Jess Hambruch added 10. Taylor Anderson had 26 points and nine rebounds for the Lancers.

Kasey Haseley scored 19 points for Niagara-Wheatfield in a 42-24 win over Wilson, which got seven points from Adam Murray.
