Niagara Gazette — • ARREST: A Falls teen was arrested and a second suspect is bring sought after Falls police interrupted an attempted robbery in the 800 block of Pine Avenue Sunday night. Officer Paul Kudela said he spotted two male suspects attacking a 37-year-old man, at around 9:40 p.m., and when he stopped his patrol car, the suspects fled in opposite directions. A short time later, Kudela spotted one of the suspects in the area of Cedar Avenue and Armory Place. The suspect ran from the officer, but was caught a short distance away and was positively identified by the victim. The victim told police he was walking on Pine Avenue, when the two suspects approached him and asked him for money. When he refused, the victim said, one of the suspects grabbed his walking stick and began beating him with it. Police have charged Jaquez Tre'von Jackson, 17, 1323 Niagara Ave., with attempted second-degree robbery and resisting arrest.
• ASSAULT: Police are investigating a shooting incident in the 3700 block of Highland Avenue. A 27-year-old man told officers he was trying to break-up a fight outside a bar at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, when he heard "three pops." After being taken to the emergency room at Niagara Falls Memorial Center, the victim discovered he had suffered a gunshot wound to his right hip. The victim was transferred to the Erie County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after a domestic incident in the 700 block of 19th Street at 2 p.m. Sunday. Kyle Eric Lorence Sr., 47, 824 20th St. lower, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt.
