Falls woman charged in fatal stabbing

Niagara Falls police arrested a 31-year-old Falls woman following the stabbing death of a 22-year-old Falls man early Sunday morning on Main Street.

Ashley Marie Berger, 31, 615 Third St., was charged with second-degree murder.

The attack occurred at the Rodeway Inn Motel, 492 Main St., about 3 a.m., Falls police said. The man, who was with Berger at the motel, suffered single stab wound to his chest.

Police did not release the man's name pending notification of his family.

He was pronounced dead at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center shortly after the incident.

Berger is the only suspect involved, but police are still investigating other aspects of the case.
