Driver taken by Mercy Flight after crash on Lake Road bridge in Wilson

A 22-year-old Wilson man was found in a nearby yard after his car struck the bridge over Twelvemile Creek about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

A resident of Lake Road called police to report the car hitting the bridge and said the driver was laying in their lawn. 

Arriving deputies said the man was conscious and complaining of severe pain to his right side. He was treated at the scene and flown by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center. He was listed in stable condition later Saturday morning.

The accident it being investigated.
