Fatal one-car accident investigated in Lewiston

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal one-car crash that took place Saturday night on Lower River Road.

A 37-year-old man was driving in the 4400 block of Lower River Road about 11:30 p.m. when he drove into a utility pole.

While enroute to Erie County Medical Center aboard a Mercy Flight helicopter, the man was pronounced dead by emergency workers.

The man's name has not been released. An investigation is continuing.
