A deputy on patrol in the area of the former Summit Park Mall about 8 a.m. Saturday found signs that someone may have broken into the shuttered building.
The deputy noticed two sets of bicycle tracks near the rear of the Williams Road mall. Investigating the matter, the deputy followed the tracks to a set of doors at the mall. The deputy said it appeared someone had tried to pry the doors open and it appeared they may have been successful.
A sheriff's dispatcher contacted multiple building key holders who were notified of the situation but did not respond to the mall to have it checked out.
The deputy checked the area around the mall but didn't find anything.
